Deuteronomy 33:12 Moses is blessing the tribes of Israel. Of Benjamin, he said, “The beloved of the Lord, he dwells in safety by him; he encompasses him all day long and makes his dwelling between his shoulders.”
As beloved children of God, Jesus dwells in us and keeps us safe. He surrounds us all day long and where does he dwell? This verse says He dwells between our shoulders! In our hearts!
And if the Spirit dwells within us, then there is no room for fear, anxiety, unforgiveness, anger, or hatred. Galatians 5:22 says; “For the fruit of the Spirit is love joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, meekness, temperance, faith, against such there is no law”.
Isn’t that cool? A word given over Benjamin-could it be for us today?
Father, thank you for the reminder that you dwell in our hearts. Let your light shine in and through us today. Amen.
